SPLA collaborated with Architects Bauer & Wiley on a high end sports and recreation retail project in Costa Mesa, California. The overall concept for the project featured vignettes of the California landscape including; an arroyo for the main pedestrian area, a redwood forest for a small amphitheater, a native grassland surrounding the coffee yurt, coastal sage scrub at the entry and the parking lot was conceived as an old farm including rows of poplars as hedge rows and native grasses as understory plantings. The Camp is a favorite hangout place for many Orange County residents and features artist in residency programs with local artists.
