SPLA collaborated with Architect Rob Quigley on the new San Diego Children’s Museum and charter school in downtown San Diego. The Museum’s unique entry is via a pedestrian bridge that crosses over terraced gardens planted as vignettes of California landscapes, while allowing natural daylight into the basement galleries. The museum was designed in conjunction with Children’s Museum Park, with the Museum’s involvement for programming of the parks “art for play” experience, while also serving as the Charter’s Schools playground. The project is scheduled to be open in January of 2008 in conjunction with Children’s Museum Park.
