Collaborated with architects Ellerbe Beckett on the new Rady School of Management situated prominently in the North Campus of UCSD. SPLA was involved in the initial site planning for the school, carefully integrating the facility into the existing campus fabric along ridge walk a major north-south pedestrian spine. The design for the RSOM facility focused on celebrating the climate, character, and beauty of the picturesque San Diego setting. The building was sited to take advantage of the panoramic views across the Salk Institute to the Pacific Ocean, with numerous smaller outdoor courtyards and terraces opening up to a large public courtyard with a direct connection to the “the Wedge” open space to the south.
